Behavioral Health & Counseling
Reeves Memorial Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Department provides counseling for a range of mental health conditions affecting your family. Whether you suspect your child may have ADHD or are dealing with grief from a loss, we’re here for you.
Why Choose Us for Counseling?
Our behavioral health program offers:
- Care for your whole family: We provide therapy for you and your entire family, from childhood through older age. We also offer counseling for couples.
- Licensed expert: Our licensed professional counselor (LPC) has years of experience caring for patients.
- Timely appointments: We offer care Monday through Friday and can often schedule appointments within the same week.
Behavioral Health Conditions We Treat
We offer counseling for these conditions:
- ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder): ADHD causes children, teens, and adults to have trouble focusing or paying attention, sitting still, and controlling impulses.
- Anxiety: Anxiety, or generalized anxiety disorder, describes an ongoing feeling of worry or dread that interferes with daily life.
- Depression: Depression, or depressive disorder, is the experience of sadness or feeling down for extended periods of time. It may last most of the day every day for a period of two weeks or more. Depression can affect your appetite and ability to sleep.
- Grief: Grief can stem from the loss of someone you love or any major loss you may experience.
- PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder): PTSD is the experience of lasting emotional distress from seeing or going through something traumatic. It can come from physical or emotional abuse, a natural disaster, or being a soldier in combat, for example.
Behavioral Health Services We Provide
We offer these behavioral health services:
- Counseling: Our counselor will begin by asking questions to get to know you, your child, or your family. We may ask what caused you to seek therapy. You will not need to share anything you’re uncomfortable discussing. Sessions are usually scheduled once a week, depending on your treatment goals.
- Crisis intervention: Crisis intervention is used to handle an immediate, emergency mental health situation that may be life-threatening. It can be triggered by stressful or traumatic events, either in the present or that happened years ago.
- Medication management: Our counselor will help monitor the effectiveness of any medications prescribed by your doctor for mental health conditions. They will also work with your doctor to recommend adjustments to better suit your needs.
We accept most insurance plans and will help verify your insurance before your first appointment.
